OUR TOURS & PRICING
We invite you to join us for a private boat tour with second-to-none views of marine and other local wildlife. Since our boats are small and can only accommodate up to six passengers, compared to many of the behemoths that many other tour outfits use, you’ll feel closer to the action and avoid large crowds. The size of our vessels means everyone aboard has the same extraordinary view and memories of an exceptional experience!
And as a bonus, all of our tours include a digital group photo taken from an overhead drone, featuring landscapes from your tour.
The departure times for our regular daily tours are 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., with pickup and drop-off at the Red Dog Saloon (278 S Franklin St, Juneau, AK 99801)
Please note that the Tracy Arm tour takes eight hours and departs at 8:00 a.m.Â
We can also make special arrangements for departure times on a case-by-case basis. Please get in touch with us as far in advance as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Here’s what you may see…
The Humpback whales you’ll see migrated all the way to their summer feeding grounds in Alaska, where you’re likely to see them lunge feeding and bubble net feeding. Their swim to Juneau begins in Hawaii, where they give birth after a 12-month gestation period. With only 10% of their original known population left, humpback whales are among the most endangered.
While they’re seen less often than their much larger counterpart, you may encounter Orcas, a.k.a. killer whales, the largest members of the dolphin family, and in Juneau, they consist of two genetically distinct groups: residents and transients. Resident killer whales dine on fish, mostly salmon. Transient killer whales stick to eating marine mammals.
We can also take you to see a gathering of gigantic Steller sea lions, the largest species of sea lion, whether on the base of one of the large buoys that dot the waters here or up to hundreds of them where they come ashore at their haulout on Benjamin Island. The island is one of the best spots to see a mix of males, females, and their young and hear the loud, deep bellows of these XL pinnipeds. Seriously. They’re HUGE, with males growing up to a massive 12 feet long and weighing up to 2,500 pounds!
The race car fast, Dall’s Porpoise, are the fastest swimmers of all small cetaceans, can reach speeds of nearly 35 mph and dive up to 1,640 for food. There are two subspecies of Dall’s porpoise, the P. d. dalli covers ranges across the northern North Pacific and what you’ll see while in Juneau. They love to speed along with fast-moving vessels. You may see them speeding along the water’s surface alongside or slightly in front of our boat, creating a water spray uniquely associated with this species, commonly known as a “rooster tail.”
Without a doubt, you’ll see any number of the approximately 32,000 majestic bald eagles that make Juneau, Alaska, their home, giving Alaska’s capital city the distinction of having one of the highest concentrations of bald eagles in North America and nearly as many eagles as the city’s 35,000 human residents. And keep your ears open for a concert of their high-pitched gull-like cries and their more well-known chatter calls over the bounty of fish at the tips of their talons.
And all the while, you’ll be mesmerized by our seemingly prehistoric local landscape and the trees, plants, and flowers that decorate it. With any luck, you may even catch a glimpse of some of our land-based wildlife, like bears, Sitka blacktail deer, mountain goats, and maybe even a moose… or a wolf?!
